There is no open access to the surgery building until further notice. If you feel you require to see a GP urgently, please phone us and a GP will call you back to discuss how best to manage your situation.
If you are requested to attend the surgery, please be patient on arrival, stand 2 metres (6 feet) from the front desk and maintain the same distance from any other patients or staff.
- Open surgery will not be operating until further notice.
- If you have symptoms of Coronavirus (especially a dry cough and fever) please do not contact the surgery in the first instance. Use the 111 coronavirus service online, or call 111 if you cannot use the online service.
- Please phone the surgery in the morning at 8am if you feel you require an urgent appointment about any other matter. To ensure patient safety, you will be contacted by a GP via telephone who will discuss how best to manage your situation. This may involve advice over the phone, or you may be invited up to the surgery to a timed slot to see a doctor.
- If you are asked to attend the surgery, please follow the instructions given by the GP. Some patients will be asked to come in via a new entrance towards the rear of the car park.
- Routine nursing appointments and phlebotomy will operate as normal, but patients should not attend if feeling unwell or have any cough or flu like symptoms.
- Housebound patients may still request home visits for urgent care in the usual manner. Please be aware that to reduce the risk to you, other patients and ourselves, we will be undertaking visits only if judged clinically essential.
- Automatic check-in screens have been turned off and magazines and books removed from the waiting area. On arriving at the surgery you should proceed to the reception desk, where staff will ask screening questions about COVID -19.
- We will support you by providing your normal prescriptions.
- Please do not over-order your prescription medicines, medication should be ordered responsibly. Please help us and other patients by ordering as you normally would.
- Please help us to keep our community safe. We are trying to minimise unnecessary trips to the surgery to protect both patients and staff. We would encourage you to use the online repeat medication ordering service leaving plenty of time for routine prescriptions. If you are not registered for the online ordering system you can still request in the normal manner but please do not attend the surgery if you are suffering with cold and flu like symptoms. Please ask a relative to attend on your behalf.
- There is now a 5 working day turn around for repeat prescriptions. Please let us know your preferred pharmacy by writing it on your repeat slip and your prescription will be sent to that pharmacy for collection.
- If the medication you require is not on your repeat prescription list, it may still be possible to issue a prescription if it has recently been issued. If we can't issue a prescription, we'll tell you, either by phone or (preferably) SMS. Please ensure we have your correct mobile number.
Shielding is for people, including children, who are at very high risk of severe illness from coronavirus (COVID-19). It’s also for their family, friends and carers.
Shielding measures should be used when an extremely vulnerable person is living in their own home, with or without additional support. This includes extremely vulnerable people living in long-term care facilities.
Shielding is for your personal protection, it’s your choice to decide whether to follow these measures.
